À propos du livre
Jonathan and Braden, an Asian gay immigrant and a straight white Canadian, set out on a road-trip across 7000 kilometers of the Trans-Canada highway from Vancouver to Halifax.
Will they survive a bear encounter in the wilderness, a class-five twister, a historic flood, and Thunder Bay? Can their friendship endure political correctness, gender identity, and an unresolved mutual man-crush? Through the stories of everyday Canadians: an aging prairie cowboy, a black trans-woman, a First Nations single mother, a gay Conservative, an evangelical Asian refugee, and an Acadian descendent; Jonathan and Braden each struggled to come to terms with their love, loss, redemption, and moving on.
Ultimately, True North is a love letter to Canada. It’s an intimate exploration of the stunning Canadian landscapes, of her triumphs and tragedies through history, and of her radical embracing of diversity; all through the eyes of an outsider. It’s a coming-of-age story about attractions, belonging, and friendships that transcend class, racial bias, and sexual orientation.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada
I'm a professional photographer, a globetrotter, and an entrepreneur based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I'm just someone who simply loves story-telling and narration through photography and writing. My writing and photographs are often simplistic, stripped down, yet colorful, sometimes messy, sometimes sentimental. They are like life itself. I am located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada but I'm always ready to travel and ready to see with an open heart and open eyes. I have been to 17 countries, 3 continents, and I'm looking to travel even more.
