À propos du livre
From Texas, with angst. "Your Soldier Boy, Jack" is a collection of WWII letters by a sharp, odd, and lanky kid out of Bristow, Oklahoma. Written while he was still training in the states, the letters are a snapshot of a young man away from home for the first time - musings on girls and guns, archery and Army life, hunger and homesickness:
“I guess I will write to you, even though there’s really nothing to say. You probably know I’m still in Texas. Also in the Army. Both at once is awful.” --- Jan. 12, 1944
Written by Jack Kimball and transcribed and edited by Joel Wayne, his grandson.
