Emma Rosebury spends most of her time alone. Moved to her parent's tiny hometown of Melbrooke, she doesn't know where to start at finding friends, fitting in, or feeling at home. She begins to fall into the monotonous swing of school and home, without any excitement or fun, until one day, a special visitor, who claims to be a friend of her late grandmother, changes her life forever.

Through the story of magic and friendship, Emma learns what it means to truly open your heart to someone, and figures out the hard way that purely selfish intentions won't get you very far in the search for happiness and belonging.
