Over a four-month period, I had publicly reached out over social media and my college campus asking strangers, friends, family members, and acquaintances if they wanted to share their personal and inspirational stories with me (with their consent of course). Once someone had shared their story with me, I offered to arrange a meetup time to take professional photographs of their tattoo(s) in the photo studio. However, there were some individuals that wanted to partake in this project but did not live within the area. Have no fear! I simply asked if they would send high quality and easily identifiable photographs my way. I explained that their stories would open the eyes of many and touch many hearts in the process. And that is exactly what their stories will do. Some may make you laugh and some may make you cry, but hopefully people will see the truth, behind the ink.
