“Khronikos” is from the Greek for “Chronicle”. A “Chronicle” is a historical account of facts and events arranged in chronological order. Typically, equal weight is given for historically important events and local events, the purpose being the recording of events that occurred, as seen from the perspective of the chronicler. Since these events are seen from the perspective of the chronicler, they are open to interpretation. Scholars categorize the genre of chronicling into two subgroups: live chronicles, and dead chronicles. A dead chronicle is one where the chronicler collects his list of events up to the time of his writing, but ignores further events as they occur. A live chronicle is where one or more authors add to a chronicle in a regular fashion, recording contemporary events shortly after they occur. Because of the immediacy of the information, historians tend to value live chronicles over dead ones. Chronicles are the predecessors of modern "time lines" rather than analytical histories. They represent accounts, in prose or verse, of local, national, or worldwide events over an extended period of time, the lifetime of the individual chronicler, and often several subsequent chroniclers.



I am a chronicler. Using a camera as opposed to a pen to chronicle my surroundings, I am but one of the many successive and concurrent chroniclers recording the world that we live in, with the hopes of sharing the things that I find important and beautiful with others. I have picked up where others left off, and others will carry on after I am finished.
