I love photography.  I love people.  The goal of The B&W Project was to create opportunities to meet people with interesting lives and stories, and then photograph them.   Document them.  Also, I wanted to test my ability to shoot people in an organic state - no masks, no hiding, no fakes, just in the moment - real.  The B&W Project was the vehicle used for this photographic journey.

Simplicity was my focus and strategy:  a camera, a computer, a backdrop, and the same lighting setup for all the photos. By doing this, all of my subjects were put on the same level playing field. I am asking you, the viewer, to discern these people (these photographs) as they are, but without the influence of color.  I hope you have as much fun viewing as we did documenting. Thank you Family, Friends and Friends of Friends.  There will be a part II. This book was a purposeful step in the right direction.
