Tom White is a University of Florida biologist currently residing in deep south Florida. On May 5th, 2007, he left alone on a trip to the Republic of Panama in order to see for himself if that country might not be a good place for him and his wife Linda and various dogs and cats to retire. Were the people friendly? Was there infrastructure? Would anyone understand his newly acquired Spanish? And what about all those stories about Latin America? Myth or reality?
