THE STATUES

Throughout history, humankind has tried to leaved their figuration continuously. Not only numerous paintings have recorded human's profile, but also lots of carved or cast figures of human have lasted for thousands of years. Therefore, statues are documentaries which show the history of the past including politics, religion, society, and culture.
At the same time, they could be the companions for contemporaries.
Statues usually have been created in order to represent politician, cleric, philosopher, and someone of mythology in the past time. However, people today seem to be losing their interest and even passing them by with indifference in spite of their own passionate history.
Looking into every detail like forms, postures, textures, expressions, and traces of time about statues is very meaningful to understand them as well as learning history. Although they have been originated by the past, they also have had a great influence on the present.
When we look at statues contemplatively, we can discover ordinary people who have worn out from rain and wind in real life instead of a great human in history and myths. Then we can have a chance to meet instantly between artists who created statues of the past and audience who see them at present against the long history.
