À propos du livre
Very personal and at times heartbreaking, this book runs the gamut from comedic to tear-jerking, at times both funny and disturbing.”From a childhood packed with hideous, exploitative adults into an adolescence that sometimes reads like an encyclopedia of self-harm, Cat frankly exposes her frequently harrowing story. Evolving from coping through destructive self-hatred—eating disorders, sex, and myriad drugs—Cat slowly works toward self-acceptance and love through rock ‘n roll, the love and trust of her ever-patient and affectionate cat George, and a supportive community in her adopted home of Oakland. Cat’s journey towards peace, personal understanding, and self-approval—in a California landscape where food to nourish your pain is far more abundant than medicine is to heal it—is occasionally disconcerting, sometimes funny, and ultimately epic.

In the dark years, the Los Angeles years, I got married and divorced, bought and short sold a condo. I moved to Oakland in 2012 to start writing again, step into myself and bloom. Still working on that last bit…
