À propos du livre
Motorkelly is a project that was formed to commemorate the work of two disparate icons of the late twentieth century, the artist Ellsworth Kelly and musician Lemmy Kilmister. Kelly and Kilmister died one day apart, Kelly on December 27th, 2015, and Kilmister on December 28th, 2015. Ellsworth Kelly, an acclaimed American visual artist, is known for his hard-edged Color Field painting. Kelly worked into his nineties, dying at the age of ninety-two from natural causes. Lemmy Kilmister was the renowned bass player and leader of the hard rock group Motorhead. Lemmy toured Europe with Motorhead as his final days approached, eventually dying at the age of seventy from prostate cancer and congestive heart failure. In this series of digital collages, these individuals are paired together in an unlikely union as homage to each.
