W. Bruce MacDonald is a writer and historian. He received his BA in English Literature from UVIC and his MA in Fine Arts/Creative Writing from UBC. He worked as a creative director in advertising for more than two decades. In 2011, Caitlin Press published The Good Hope Cannery; in 2013, Salmonbellies vs. The World; and in 2026, Rags to Riches: The Story of the Nelson Brothers Fisheries. MacDonald has written many individual, family, and corporate history books and has published poetry in Canadian periodicals. In 2018, Guernica Editions published The Massacre Confirmed Our Worst Suspicions. He has published six novels and two books of short stories.
