Born in London, Campbell got his first job in the Photographic Industry as a research assistant at the Kodak Research Lab near London. Later he taught photography and photographic technology at the Kodak Photo School. In the Seventies he was the Senior Lecturer at the Salisbury College of Art and Came to the USA to study with Ansel Adams in 1980. He was a professor at Cal Poly State University for four years before starting his portrait studio in San Diego. British high jump. Single dad.
