Growing up in Africa, the son of missionaries, Jon Moyer has Kenya in his blood. It’s the place where Jon feels most alive and inspired, a place where man and nature live side-by-side and the result is photographic poetry. Behind the lens, Jon hopes to bring the African experience to life for those who’ve never made the trek.



Kenya is a land of sharp contrasts, where life on the plains is both nurturing and predatory, stark yet stunning. In the small nearby villages, such disparities can also be seen in the faces of its people, whose lives are threatened by poverty but whose spirits are rich in joy and gratitude. Far from the material excesses of civilization, they are happy simply to exist. This is the essence of Kenya that Jon works to capture in his photographs, showing the beauty of nature in its rawest form and revealing the best of the human spirit.
