My Colorado Yule Marble Sculpture is light, portable, and carved for full immersion in the real world. Easy to pick up and move around, the Curvilinear technique I developed, in order to shed the marble’s notorious 170 pounds PER cubic foot DEAD WEIGHT, means that for the first time in its long, long history, hand carved marble sculpture is now free to step out of the museum, the stuffy gallery, and lofty environs in general, and out into the world in which we dwell. In fact, for the first time ever marble sculpture is now free to adorn practically anywhere its luminous presence is desired. Photographs however only go so far in their portrayal of the many subtle hues, shadows and shading presented by ‘the real thing’ as you will see them in the gallery. I’m sure you will leave with plenty of ideas just where you’ll be staging your new found treasure upon returning home. I’ll show just how easy it is to care for Curvilinear marble sculpture, and how natural it feels to simply hold the smooth marble against your body as you walk your sculpture from one place to another around your home, patio, garden or office. And finally, my Collection Series Marble is inscribed with its Serial Number, along with my Mark, upon the underside of each sculpture’s base.
