It’s not all ice, just a bit more than 80% of the island is covered by an ice cap 4 km thick in places.

A 16 days exploration of the Eastern Greenland Coasts, where the Vikings settled in search for maybe some green summers, we explored some the most remote places in and around the Arctic region on the World and with an elite expedition crew. We traveled to remote locations such as Scoresby Sund, NE Greenland National Park, Ittoqqortoormiit… Exploring the Greenland coastline, where we could enjoy dramatic views of Greenland scenery was just a majestic journey.

When you think about it, there is virtually no road, so transportation is limited. If you can face the cold of the harsh winters, there is the dog sleight, if you can splurge to get on a helicopter, then great, and or get on a “boat ride” is worth every penny; the views are spectacular.

I pinched myself everyday on this trip, just being grateful that I was able to work with Raul Touzon as his assistant teaching photography on “The World”, working with the EYOS Expedition Teams, a great team of individuals, and getting to photograph this magnificent part of the world.
