Tony Heidt was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1935. He survived a devilish childhood to become an upstanding citizen. He wrote this book to his granddaughter Anna Johnson about his childhood days on the barrier island of Tybee off the coast of Savannah. Other various members of Tony's extended family have also contributed their memories of Tybee to the second part of the book. Contributors include: Virginia Lee, Lu Riley, Emma Harrington, Mimi Ferrelle, Jim Roberts, Clegg Roberts, Fran Stuber, Gretchen Johnson, Francis Heidt, David Heidt, Mark Johnson and Anna Johnson.
