Examples not limited to the stuff that Nature is but extended to its processes, effects and how it weaves into an artist's interpretation of Nature's event. Along the way the snap-shots morphed into a subsequent genre of images that spoke beyond the original intention…” So reads the back-cover of this, the second book, dedicated to the inspirational Kaaterskill Clove and the territory surrounding the famous gathering place of 19th century American Landscape painter.

DePietro is as well a painter, yet when it comes to depicting the wonders of a natural landscape, he opts for his camera; reserving brushes for a more inward trajectory of perceptions. Like that, the book is brimming with photographs; and for the most part they are taken during a one-year project, 2008-09.

Along the way, something more than arrived to the perceiver; along the pathways, notions started to interfere with the beauty and sublime found; the artist realized that Nature was suggesting something more in tune of Imaginal. So when the camera was shelved, and the brushes again took front stage, a new quality – one that united the two corridors of visual creativity – started to unfold.

Almost a decade has passed since the project ended; but the images have constantly been telling a deeper story; and the artist finally expands the once tiny showing of the images, by gathering more from the compendium and sharing them in a long overdue book to the subject: of Nature; and what hides in subjectivity within its presence…
