Recognized for striking black and white portrait and landscape photography, Ted Casey produced this documentary effort in Durham, North Carolina in 1991. In the essay that introduces this book, Casey describes how he chose to focus on barber shops and the male community that frequents them. Through Casey's beautiful black and white imagery, he presents a view of Durham's past and present.
