This book follows on to cover the complexities of insect flight: explaining why early aircraft engineers marvelled at the flight of the bumblebee. The final section 'Brain and Behaviour' explores how the insect brain and Central Nervous System can, however limited in size, allow for some extraordinary behaviour, which touches on the social ranking in bumblebee colonies and the ability of an ant to count.
