À propos du livre
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul and that if you look deep within you can see the persons sincerity and truth! What you’re seeing is their inner-child within; as this is where ones inner-child resides and comes from a place of love.
On a recent trip to Ethiopia i came across very powerful faces and intense eyes, especially among the tribes in the lower Omo Valley.
Eye contact produces a powerful, subconscious sense of connection that extends even to photographed eyes.
This series of portraits illustrate the idea of seeing more than just a face when looking at the photo.
They invite the viewer to go beyond the surface feelings, deeper into the mood and essence of these people’s life, creating an intimate connection.
The people i photographed they rarely smiled . In their eyes i could read hardship, hope, curiosity and pride. Some had such a penetrating gaze that it was almost hipnotic.
