À propos du livre
For anyone suffering from depression, you know what it feels like to be drowning while everyone around you is breathing. You know what it feels like to be in a room full of people, yet you’ve never felt more isolated. You know what it feels like to be in a long dark tunnel, seeing the light at the end but being too weak to ever reach it. Depression is a total loss of who you are, an internal feeling of nothingness, a mourning of your own death. It can gradually take hold and begin to manifest itself, slowly tearing apart your world in the process. The scariest part is that you can be blindsided by it all. The more you reject to admit that you are depressed, the deeper you will drown. Talking about your depression could be the one thing that saves you from it. Just knowing that you are not alone through the journey can make all of the difference. And if I can make a difference in the way people talk about their depression, making it a little more gentle to people fighting this battle, then it is worth my while. The purpose of this book is to give off a softer, gentler side to depression. To not see depression as only black and gray, but to view it from a different perspective with color, as a sign of hope. To understand how impacting it is, but to know that you are not alone. To educate those who don’t understand the terrifying journey. To help someone who is severely struggling with it. To be able to admit to having depression and deciding that it’s okay to bring people along with you on your journey, because they may be that one saving answer that you need.

Hi! I’m Amanda. I’m a passionate designer with a mind full of curiosity. I live my life like I’m on one big, constant adventure. I have a fascination for exploring the unknown and capturing my experiences through a pencil or a lens. My personal work illustrates exploration, both physically and conceptually. My passion lies in conceptually exploring the relationship between emotion and design. I strongly believe that design should tell a personal and deeper story beneath its surface. As a form of therapy, this idea helps me share the journeys and obstacles that I have been through, in hope to inspire people to want to share journeys and emotions of their own.
