Arkitrek is an architectural design practice rooted in a love of wilderness areas. They are a social enterprise with the mission “to conserve nature through design”. Each year they run Arkitrek Camp, an experiential learning program that inculcates values of sustainability, community engagement and resource conservation. This guide was written by the participants of 2014. It contains everything they learnt, from how to survey and layout the site, to building the structure and laying roof sheets. In the process, they explore stabilised earth bags, biocrete, bamboo, rainwater harvesting and leech fields.
