Twenty-three. Twenty- three rusty, broken and antique cars. It’s hard to picture these vehicles back in their prime, flying down the highways, shiny from a fresh wax and buff. My goal in this collection is to bring back the beauty of these cars that once were a huge part of the American Dream from the eyes of a camera lens.

They have been abandoned, used to their maximum, and some wrecked and sold for parts. These cars have lived a life, and a legacy that their owners have left behind. Looking at these cars in their current state can bring back those memories of a simpler life that were full of laughter, romance, hard work, tears, and drive-ins. Times where having a car was a privilege, rather than a need.

It is easy for me to look at these cars, as old, dilapidated, useless, objects; but when I stop and truly look at them, I find myself imagining and admiring all that people went through in these cars. I get to see their true beauty even when they are rusted out and abandoned. My goal photographing this collection is to have the viewer see an old, antique car, and look at its true beauty; the legacy they leave for the future generations, and a memory of those of the past.
