À propos du créateur
Gene Altman
Treasure Island, Florida
In 1967 I took a 15 month break from my medical studies at Stanford to pursue my passion for photography. Working as a professional photographer, I roamed the streets of Manhattan taking candid photos of New Yorkers. My inspirations were many, including Henri Cartier-Bresson, now recognized as the father of street photography, and Dorthea Lange, whose Depression era images captured the depth of emotion in the faces of migrant farm workers. Subsequently, I practiced clinical and forensic psychiatry in Hawaii for 42 years.
