Being on the east coast of Newfoundland at the end of June 2014 was simply spectacular. Little did we know when planning the trip earlier in the year how fortunate we were to be. We succeeded in our quest to see our "big three" - icebergs, puffins (not so big), and humpback whales. Our luck lay in the fact that the iceberg season and viewing had not been "this good", as the locals put it, in decades - over 50 years. As we drove around the east coast peninsulas, looking for yet more great thins and places to explore, and asking the locals how to get there, we were always met with the same warm welcome and encouraged with the same inevitable... "It's not that far!"

The Cook Islands offered a perfect escape – a time to relax and explore, all in a picture perfect paradise on earth! Returning to Southeast Asia, this time to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and South Korea, he was quickly reminded why this area is known as the land of smiles.
