Michael D. Plumbtree is an Alberta Health Services, Emergency Medical Services Edmonton Metro, Advanced Care Paramedic. He graduated in 1990 as an EMT, and then graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1993 as a Paramedic. He has responded to over 20,000 calls in over 26 years on the job, and in his words, "Just when I think I’ve seen it all…" From car accidents to cardiac arrests, to life and death, and to everything in between. In 2000, he began researching the history of Ambulances and Paramedics to dispel the myths, educate the masses, and to promote his profession both to the layperson and to the Ambulance Paramedic professional as well.
