Alex is a veteran stage hypnotist who is also scientifically trained (BSc, Honours in Psychology). He couples scientific insight with vast experience gleaned from over twenty years hypnotising the public. In this book he addresses the increasingly popular but questionable fashion for "erotic hypnosis" by taking the reader beyond adult fantasy games into the realm of actual possibilites. The book begins with a general overview, explaining basic hypnotic technique in great detail. The text then moves onto increasingly sophisticated techniques described in terms of the BDSM scenario which today is at the heart of this particular application of hypnotism. However, the purpose in doing so is not simply as a "how to guide" but a means of developing theoretical insights into how all hypnotism can be explained. Beyond this, the author goes on to apply this explanatory process to a look at controversial speculations that have been made about "mind control". The title hints at much within the text. Whilst there exists a specific fetish for hypnotic games between consenting adults, The author takes us beyond these scenes into a sphere of real hypnotic potentialities adapted to the BDSM scenario. His purpose is multi-fold. Yes those with a participating inclination are welcome to delve into the cornucopia of techniques on offer. But the description of these techniques and the psychological processes at work offers the author the field in which to elaborate further a Constructivist , Social-Psychological interpretation of hypnotic behaviour, which he has outlined in previous titles. Beyond all of this, the book reaches further, into realms of controversial topics such as alleged abuse of hypnotism in espionage.
