Half by chance, half by circumstance, I recently moved into an apartment near Centre and 10th Street in San Pedro. Not the most savory of neighborhoods; a few blocks from the projects, surrounded by halfway houses, and next door to a small motel...with a downstairs bar. Needless to say, I soon realized why the rent was so cheap. Despite being rough around the edges, it has become an interest of mine to learn more about these beautiful homes and the stories behind them. In the neighborhood I now call home, Vinegar Hill.
