À propos du livre
Launched in March 1937, the Dredge William A. Thompson served 850 miles of the Upper Mississippi River clearing the way for commercial and pleasure ships and boats. The dredge served as home and workplace for 40 men and women at a time before being retired by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2008, seventy-one years after its construction and a full twenty years longer than expected. This book is a collection of photos taken in the Fall of 2013 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, where she is currently moored.
