À propos du livre
A portfolio of work by sculptor Wes Valdez.
"In my current work, I am exploring the concept of death as unknowable and inescapable. I've been creating memento mori from glass and construction materials like concrete, wood, plaster, paint, and steel while taking inspiration from the decaying urban architecture of Philadelphia. I find beauty in chipped and worn paint, rust, and cross sections of partially collapsed buildings. I see buildings every day that have been sitting untouched for years and think about how these places have been forgotten. There is something inherently attractive about the visible history in a building that is also evident in our aging bodies."
