Robert is a professional graphic designer, fine artist and successful self taught photographer. His continued passion for colour, landscape and the natural world have encouraged him to progress into the arena of photography from a successful international award winning fine art background. ‘Textures, lines, movement and colour are key elements which bring any one composition together when painting. There is also a ‘connection’ for my subject. Without this, there is no ‘message’ no meaning – nothing. My empathy with wildlife and the natural world seen through the lens follows the same remit. A successful photograph goes beyond merely recording. For me the beauty of nature (demonstrated creatively) in the first instance is of prime importance. The viewer must linger and see more – the inspiration behind the shot. If I have achieved this and the viewer too gains an empathy for the natural world through my images...then I have achieved my aim.’
