I wrote this book to pay tribute to an ordinary life that left behind an extraordinary legacy through numerous drawings and paintings. My grandfather, Jim Harris, was a commercial artist and spent many days drawing and painting with artists from across the Northwest Ohio region. I was born after his death but have always felt a close connection to his memory and talent. This book is a culmination of my interest in his work, and an effort to discover more of a man, his talent, and life that defines so much of who I am and the dynamics that shape our family.
