À propos du livre
Since 2003, the brothers of Pi Kappa Phi have traveled across the U.S. making camps and communities more accessible for people with disabilities.
Build America is part of Push America, run entirely by Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Pi Kappa Phi has 130 active and 90 alumni chapters throughout the country, and is the only college fraternity to establish its own national philanthropy.
This summer, the team logged over 4,000 miles, worked 3,672 man-hours in construction, saved camps and communities over $45,900 in labor costs, and touched the lives of many people with disabilities.
But the summer wasn’t all about pounding hammers or cutting 2x4s. The best part of this journey happened in the evenings when team members gathered with campers for dinner and camp activities. Team members got a chance to meet some remarkable individuals who taught them tremendous lessons about perseverance, optimism, and love.
This book tells the remarkable story of these extraordinary young men and their Build America Summer of 2008.
