À propos du livre
Berlin is a city that has always intrigued me. The epicenter for many of the 20th century's most defining moments in political and social history.
I have always assumed that the powerhouse of the modern German government would have been quick to heal the scars of it's divided past. It's 24 years since the wall fell yet it's presence is still felt so strongly within the city.
The boundaries that once existed may have become blurred over that time but the echoes of it's divided past are harder to remove.
There is an obvious conflict still present in the city today; the battle to make positive steps forward without neglecting it's troubled past and damaged society.
As a photographer, I wanted to document the city as it stands today. To portray an honest image of the city as I see it as a stranger over 4 days.
I set out with a 50mm lens and shot only in Black and White with noediting of the mages - "It is what it is"
My intention was to capture the city and it's people as they fight to erase the past, remember the victims and look to a new future.
This is my personal view of Berlin.

Lincoln
I am a photography and film graduate from the University of Lincoln. I have taken photographs all my life and find pleasure in capturing the unusual. My work often looks at social deprivation and i'm rather fascinated by travel terminus' - anywhere where people gather within a space. A multitude of stories and journeys can be explored in these locations and I aim to capture that variation in my work.
