Accomplished with many art awards in the Metro Atlanta and North Georgia area, Shane McDonald is recognized as an artist, art instructor and designer. He has maintained his own studio, first in Kennesaw (GA), and now in Marietta (GA), since 1998.
Shane's interest in painting started in childhood. He later completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design and illustration at Kennesaw State University, which provided a strong foundation for a career in art. Shane worked as a full-time illustrator and graphic designer before pursuing his career in fine art.

Accomplished with many art awards in the Metro Atlanta and North Georgia area, Shane McDonald is recognized as an artist, art instructor and designer. His painting, Morning Mist at Rabun Gap (30 x 40 in. oil), was acquired by the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art in 2003 through a purchase award for Metro Montage III. He has since exhibited at the Museum many times, including several of the past Metro-Montage exhibitions. More recently, he received first-place recognition for his painting of the Big Chicken at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art’s first annual Plein Air Paint Out. Shane has served on the Board of Trustees to the Museum and has been engaged in various fundraising projects with the Museum, including the 2011 and 2012 Art & Design Show House. Shane has served as a juror for several metro-area art festivals and visual arts organizations. He has maintained his own studio, first in Kennesaw and now in Marietta, since 1998.
