This book, Letters to Grandma and Grandpa Madsen, was written and published to honor Don and Norma Madsen, and to provide a tangible memory for them to enjoy as they reflect back on their five children, 13 grandkids, and 12 great-grandchildren. Don has Alzheimer's at this time, and looking at photographs of his children and family helps him remember and find memories in his brain that he has lost. He and Norma will treasure this gift from their grandkids for as long as they can.

My name is Mary Berntson, and I have been writing creatively since I was old enough to hold a pencil or crayon in my hand! this new book, Letters to Grandpa and Grandma Madsen, has a companion for my family, Letters To Grandpa, honoring my husband's father, and features letters from his 16 grandchildren. These two books, written as the grandparents are in their 80's, are gifts to help spark memories of the past, and allowed the grandkids to reflect on and share their thoughts with their grandparents; love, stories, thankfulness, and joy in being part of a loving family. My hope is the books are a loving tribute, and treasured keepsakes for the lives of the folks involved, and their descendants, as well.
