À propos du livre
In his notes for this exhibition, Theoharis David
asks us not to regard his drawings as works
of art intended to stand on their own. The
pictures seem to argue with this request. They
address us in the way genuine art always does,
by speaking a language of feeling that is both
personal and impersonal, intensely subjective
and at the same time responsive to something
significant that is not of the self.
