This collection of photographs is a book using only the technique of high dynamic range* images.

In February 2012, I visited Rio de Janeiro in Brazil on commission to document Carnival, but also in order to capture images of the people in Rio and the surrounding landscapes. The Going Global bursary from Canary Wharf and U.E.L funded my journey giving me the opportunity to experience Rio, an incredible and vibrant city. During the trip, I was able to wander around the city, visit the mesmeric sites and taste the culture of rich and poor areas.

This book shows photographs in HDR with the intention of showing my interpretation of what I was seeing rather than the mechanical way the camera stored them. The photographs convey the deep colours of buildings and favelas, the vibrant greens of the jungle, the blue skies and atmospheric clouds together with high details of the exotic landscapes.
