my best friend and i for her 50th birthday, as learner motorbike riders decided to ride across the Australian Nullarbor. We both rode over 6000km, approximately 450km a day, taking 3 weeks to achieve this dream. We camped in caravan parks and on the side of the road in the bush. a backup crew of 3 great Aussie blokes came with us and helped us when a tyre got a nail embedded in it, and a tyre valve blew! In the first week there were many times the boys told us to 'harden up'. we ached, we cried, we laughed, and we both had our birthdays while on the trip. The bushpoem in this photo book reflects the journey as it was travelled, and the photos reflect the beautiful Australian landscape and seascape, as well as some of the more special moments such as the kangaroos that joined us for lunch on the Beach at Lucky Bay. The Nullarbor itself is a verdant carpet of foliage in irredescent greens and grey silver foliage. The nullarbor and the coastline of Australia where we travelled were gobsmackingly beautiful. A dream to ride was achieved.
