As Scotland strives for independence from the rest of Great Britain in order to have a greater control over it's own affairs, Kevin Traynor looks at how the city of Glasgow is presently defined to its own population and the environment which they currently reside. Has the Westminister government of London simply raped the country for its North Sea Oil and Edinburgh's tourist attractions, and left its largest city to become a desolate wasteland for its inhabitants, a city characterized by extremely high levels of alcohol and class A drug misuse, namely heroin, and with males having the lowest life expectancy in the UK, hIgh unemployment and some of the worst housing conditions in Western Europe.
