The [L]able collection consists of ready-to-wear clothes that are transformed into one-of-a-kind couture pieces. These garments are adorned with layers of labels that cascade in undulating rhythms over the surface. The new texture is developed by reproducing typical information provided by the manufacturers via labels either sewn-in or printed directly on the clothes. What was first a simple garment culled from current department store trends and thrift store treasures is metamorphosised into a multidimensional sculpture.

[L]able: Catalog of Images, Version Two is a collection of images documenting the work. This version was updated on June 21, 2008 after launching the collection at the San Francisco Art Institute's Master of Fine Arts Graduate Exhibition.

I’m lucky to have a wide range of experiences behind me from a combination of work, school, art, and travel. My professional career includes time spent as a Window Designer for Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlors; a Production Artist, Art Director and Production Manager for various multi-media companies; a Graphic and Textile Designer for Esprit Corporation; and, Map Designer for Burning Man. My work has been featured at ProArts Gallery, Diego Rivera Gallery, and the Exploratorium. I continue to do freelance photography and design in addition to fine art while also running the Graphic Design Department and teaching at FIDM in San Francisco. I received my B.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography from San Jose State University and an M.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute in Design + Technology.
