The school in this series, the former Powder Springs Elementary School, was located just outside of Atlanta and in the community I now call home.

In 2006, the school was demolished to make way for a new library. Many of my neighbors and friends attended school there. Powder Springs Elementary opened in the 1920’s and closed in the mid 80’s.

Like many schools at the time, grades 1-12 all attended class in the same building. Sections were added the building as the community grew.

My goal during the several visits was to capture memories. Though absent of children and teachers, the Old School still cradled the spirit of youth. Colors of learning, laughter and moments of day dreaming were still present if you looked and listen.

The book is 7” x 7” and is printed on Premium Quality Paper and is available in soft or hard cover and as an eBook.

20 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Seven Springs Museum at the Bodiford House.
