À propos du livre
The project for the 2011 University Film and Video Association Conference is nothing less than a critical examination of what we do within the context of the university and how we do it, framed by the sense that the university as a whole requires rethinking, if not redefinition. This inclination is prompted by the impact of the digital and indeed, as the digital humanities enters a third phase, one dedicated – potentially – to a transformation of an institutional understanding of knowledge itself through attention to computation, the UFVA community plays a key role in enabling a broad and profound understanding of this shift. Who better understands the fundamental implications of the deployment of digital tools, narratives, images and screens than those actively engaged in creating with, and thinking through, them?
