Created with the warm idea of introducing the alphabet shapes to my children, the book has been a small photographic project between May and July 2011.

All images were created for the book by using film and traditional darkroom printing techniques.

My hope is for my children to gain exposure to images that broaden their ideas of imagery and art. I chose no 'colour' and used abstracting blacks and whites. Letter shapes are implied by framing, composition, light and shadow. This is less of a children's book and more of a primer in letters, tones, ideas and things

Most important, it should make the young readers ask questions about the shapes, the objects photographed and feel enjoyment in ownership of their book.
