This is the second in a series of four book. In 2009 while searching for records of the Lavonia United Daughters of the Confederacy in the Lavonia Carnegie Library, I discovered four extremely large scrapbooks in the attic. Inquiring of the books I found they belonged to "no one" since they were not on the collection list of the library. Being a lover of history, I took one of the books to Vivian Young, another lover of history and we decided they had to be preserved in hardback book form. Vivian confiscated the remaining three and our journey of preservation began. During the 60+ years of their existence, several pictures had been torn from their pages and the pages were beginning to deterioate. Three have been completed, one to go! Hope you enjoy the history of Lavonia as seen from the eyes of those who lived and developed these scrapbooks from 1949 - 1953! Proceeds from the sale of these books go to the Lavonia Historic Preservation Commission.
