In our daily routine, its hard to find a view that doesn’t include a car or at least some visual evidence one was recently present. It’s similar to looking at the night sky anywhere in the world and seeing stars with the ever present satellite moving slowly through them.



“Autoscapes” brings to mind various associations. The cars in their environments may remind you of a certain design aesthetic. They can become billboards showing the state of someone's upscale economy. They may also illustrate the economy of the downscale environment they occupy. Cars are everywhere, good or bad, you choose, I just try to see through the clutter, control the visual chaos, impose my sense of design on the mundane details most people don’t see.



I’ve been making these images throughout my photographic life which started in the early 1970s.

This group represents 1977 through 2008.
