My love of mountains - and mountain people - started at the age of 19, when I found myself in war-torn Kashmir at the start of my first backpacking trip. Kashmir is so beautiful, and yet so scarred through years of conflict. Ladakh is a largely Tibetan area in the state of Jammu and Kashmir which is free from the conflict that ravages the rest of the state. A high altitude mountain desert, it is a safe haven for thousands of Tibetan refugees. Nepal is one of my favourite countries, with gentle people and stunning scenery. Sharing Everest with Tibet, Nepal is a mountain-lovers paradise. 'Himalayan Images' is a collection of my favourite photographs from these places.
