This book has emerged from my constantly growing body of spontaneous photographic work documenting life in the Fairfield - Vedic City area of Iowa.



I have been interested in photography since the age of 13. I was apprenticing with a Danish master in the field and spent long hours in my mother’s kitchen, which I made into a darkroom for exploring the various skills of using of film and paper.



One of the challenges I have set for myself in recent years is to make great photos with inexpensive cameras. For each photo i usually spend an average of 2 minutes on photoshop editing, since I believe in the importance of minimal editing, both for music and photography.



Since 1980 I have been actively involved in graphic design, but my main profession is music in the various capacities of being a concert pianist, composer, vocalist, and music educator. Both in the area of music and visual arts my main interest is in spontaneity, improvisation, and presence in the moment.
