Part autobiography, part confession, and part critique, this work looks both inward and outward, blending inquiry with absurdity, and borrowing from post-modernism, Dada, and sixties experimentalism (with some Ernie Kovacs, Spike Jones and Mad Magazine thrown in to keep things moving).

Jay Boersma

Jay Boersma received the M.F.A. at Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied with Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind and did additional coursework with Lisette Model and Minor White. He received the B.A. at Columbia College Chicago where he studied with Charles Traub, Jim Newberry, and many others. His photography is in the Permanent Collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Contemporary Photography, and numerous private collections.
