The world I work in is about tearing paper apart and putting it back together in new ways. These fragmented pieces of magazines, old books, paper, are put together in a way that makes sense to me. I want to make something that expresses things in a different way. I want to see what might arise from tearing, cutting, gluing, arranging. When things are coming apart in the world, the art of collage feels like a worthy pursuit. The collages included in this book of chance associations of torn paper is my way of making sense of this world.
